I earned a BS in Accounting at the State University of New York at Binghamton and studied for an MBA at Adelphi University. I passed the Certified Public Accountant examination at my first sitting.
I began my accounting career as a Certified Public Accountant with Grant Thornton, a major, international firm. I first gained my business acumen in its Middle Markets Department which specializes in tax preparation for, and audits of, small- to mid-sized, privately-owned companies.
I was recruited by one of my clients to become its Chief Financial Officer at the age of 27. I controlled and closely supervised the financial, data processing and administrative activities of that $160M import/export corporation. During my stewardship, I accelerated a four-fold growth in the corporation’s sales volume by conceiving and implementing a fully computerized management system that integrated and streamlined all of its activities.
Throughout the early stages of my career, I always maintained a small individual and business practice. I enjoyed the one-on-one contact with my clients and the immediate satisfaction of assisting them with their financial, tax and computerization needs. As time passed, I discovered that private practice was my passion, and finally became my own boss.
I am a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Advanced QuickBooks ProAdvisor and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of New York Public Accountants.
